Before Arrival

How to Apply for Accommodation

Before coming to Zlín, make sure to apply for student accommodation as early as possible. Spaces are limited and applications are handled on a first-come, first-served basis. Follow the steps below to secure your place in the dormitories.

1.

Receive Your Acceptance Letter

Once you are officially accepted into the university, you will receive an acceptance letter.

2.

Register in the Online Accommodation System & Pay the Deposit

Go to ISKAM Registration and create an account. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email. Then fund your account (Account → accounts) by paying the 4500 CZK deposit.

3.

Explore Available Dormitories

International students usually stay in Halls U12 or MSI, but you can check all available dormitories here: UTB Halls of Residence. Rooms vary in size, price, and distance from campus.

4.

Submit Your Accommodation Request

Log in to ISKAM and go to Accommodation → Accommodation Requests (Queries). Choose the correct waiting list and submit your request. You will receive an email once it is processed.

5.

Choose Your Room & Reserve Your Move-In Date

After you are assigned a dormitory, choose your room directly in ISKAM. Once you know your arrival date, reserve your move-in date in the ISKAM system under Reservation → Accommodation.

During Your Stay

Once you have moved in, there are a few important steps and tips to help you settle in and make the most of your stay.

1.

Check In & First Month Payment

On the day of your move-in, go to the dormitory reception to check in. Have all documents ready and ensure you have already paid for the first month.

2.

Room Check & Inspection

You will receive keys, reception sticker, and Wi-Fi password. Inspect your room for any damages or issues and report them to the dormitory staff to avoid later charges.

3.

Familiarize with Rules

Read the dormitory rules carefully. Bed sheets are changed during the first week of each month, and room inspections are conducted on Wednesday of the second week.

4.

Maintenance & Fault Reporting

For any room or facility issues, report directly to the dorm receptionist or submit a request through ISKAM (Accommodation → Fault Book).

5.

Monthly Rent Payments

Ensure your rent is paid on time each month via ISKAM. Payments are made from the 1st date of the month. After the 10th, the payment is considered late and will incur an additional 500 CZK charge. If the payment is not made by the 15th, you may face eviction from the dormitory. The accommodation contract will be terminated and the deposit will be used to cover the debt.

Before Departure

Before leaving Zlín, follow these steps to ensure a smooth departure and avoid any issues with the dormitory or your account.

1.

Inform Dormitory Receptionist

Notify your dormitory about your departure date in advance and submit any required forms.

2.

Clean Your Room

Remove personal belongings, dispose of trash properly, and leave furniture in good condition.

3.

Settle Any Pending Payments

Check your ISKAM account for any outstanding fees or deposits and pay them before departure. Settle all paperwork with the accommodation officer/receptionist.

4.

Return Keys & Access Items

Return keys, registration sticker, and borrowed items to the dormitory reception. Obtain confirmation of return.

5.

Provide Feedback

Optionally, provide feedback about your stay to help improve the dormitory experience for future students.
